ADVANCED CLASSES

We welcome any athletes who demonstrate proficiency in gymnastics to inquire about joining our Advanced Classes!  If your child is currently in a class, his/her coach will give a recommendation to the Recreational Director if he/she demonstrates a high level of skills for their age group.  An assessment can also be requested by contacting the office ([email protected]). 

ADVANCED KINDERGYM

Prerequisite: Coach Recommendation or Assessment

This class is an extension of our Kindergym Program. It has been created for three and four year olds who have some Kindergym experience and who wish to develop their basic skills even further in preparation for more challenging skills and longer classes.

The Advanced Kindergym class runs for 1.5 hours, with a coach to athlete ratio of 1:6.

Ages: 3 – 4 years

*Any fees that are lower are prorated for classes that fall on holidays during the session

JUNIOR ADVANCED

Prerequisite: Coach Recommendation or Assessment

Our Junior Advanced classes focus on the development of new skills and techniques. Incorporation of strength, conditioning and flexibility exercises are introduced. This class runs for 1.5 hours, with a coach to athlete ratio of 1:8.

Ages: 5 – 6 years

INTERMEDIATE ADVANCED

Prerequisite: Coach Recommendation or Assessment

Athletes are introduced to more advanced techniques and skills. Elevated strength conditioning and flexibility training are required for further advancement in the higher CanGym levels. This class runs for 1.5 hours, with a coach to athlete ratio of 1:8.

Ages: 7 – 9 years

SENIOR ADVANCED

Prerequisite: Coach Recommendation or Assessment

Athletes are introduced to more advanced skills and techniques. Greater levels of strength and flexibility are required for increased difficulty of skills. Athletes learn flight skills on floor, tumble trak, and tramp, cartwheels on beam, kips on bars, high bar elements, to name a few. This class runs for 2 hours, with a coach to athlete ratio of 1:8.

Ages: 10 – 15 years
